The General Assembly and 2021 Academic Annual Meeting of the Shanghai WTO Law Society was held on Nov. 13. Zhou Hanmin, vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Shanghai Committee, Yin Yao, chairman of the University Council of SUIBE, and experts and scholars attended the annual meeting.
Yin Yao delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He said that serving national strategies, SUIBE has nurtured a batch of experts and scholars in WTO legal affairs, and made influential academic achievements, which provides intellectual support for further WTO legal research and promoting national reform. He hoped that by holding this conference, SUIBE could continue to strengthen the cooperation and exchanges with other universities in WTO laws, so to offer advice for and make contributions to the development of Shanghai and China.
Zhou Hanmin was once again appointed as the honorary president of Shanghai WTO Law Research Society at the meeting and delivered a keynote report. After the report, experts and scholars made speeches and comments on the three topics of new issues related to WTO reform, cultivation of legal personnel related to WTO and foreign affairs, and newlegal issues related to the development and opening up of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone.
