SUIBE on October 21 held a meeting to mark the start of the preparation for and the first round of consultation on the construction of the university’s museum. An expert advisory committee was established, which consists of multiple Chinese museum experts and SUIBE’s alumni. SUIBE President Wang Rongming and SUIBE Vice President Yu Xuemei attended the meeting.
Wang Rongming said that SUIBE will build a featured and distinctive museum, and the museum will be operated and developed based on the university’s disciplinary characteristics, educational features, faculty development and alumni contributions.
Experts joining the meeting expounded on the preparation work of university museums from an international perspective, and expressed their insights on the operation of domestic university museums, as well as their positioning, goals and visions.
