On March 12, a special seminar was held at SUIBE on improving talent development mode, aiming to promote the construction ofnew liberal arts and start a new journey of cultivating high-quality, compound and outstanding talents of economic and trade studies. Vice president Xu Yonglin attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
Mr. Xu made three proposals on reforming the talent development mode. First, he proposed to fulfill the fundamental responsibility of moral education and reinforce the cultivation of talents. Second, he requested the faculty to take the opportunity of developing new liberal arts to strengthen the reform on cultivating compound talents, so as to offer supports for Shanghai in digital transformation and in the constructionof a city of industry-education integration. Third, he proposed to gradually foster new characteristics of undergraduate education by making full use of the resources and platforms of the university and giving full play to the features and advantages of its disciplines.
